About AWC: Australian Wetlands Consulting is an award-winning environmental design and consulting company committed to creating a better environment through sustainable and innovative design responses, with an emphasis on ‘Nature Based Solutions’. AWC specialises in a wide range of environmental design and consulting services for local and state government, industry, and the private sector.
AWC offers a multi-disciplinary team to maximise project outcomes. Our staff throughout Australia include botanists, aquatic and terrestrial ecologists, water scientists, catchment managers, landscape architects and engineers. Specialising in waterway rehabilitation (Urban and Rural), stormwater treatment, WSUD, wetland creation and rehabilitation. Our projects are generally driven by scientific and ecologically concerns, but the outcomes, often result in a design of a built environment.
The role of our Landscape architects is to enhance the overall quality of design, visual communication and presentation of information through their graphic skills, helping conceptualise and communicate ideas to clients and the public. Depending on the enterprise this material can then be developed into an urban, industrial or rural environment landscape design outcome.
Job description: We are seeking a talented and appropriately experienced Landscape Architect to join our Northern Rivers office. The office is in the beautiful town of Bangalow, 10-minutes by car from Byron Bay. We understand that some candidates might be making the move to the area, so we are flexible with start dates and working remotely until you find your feet.
The successful candidate will play a role in the design and application of our landscaping projects. As a Landscape Architect, you will be responsible for creating advanced and aesthetic designs that meet our client’s needs and align with our company’s vision.
Degree in Landscape Architecture plus 2 – 10 years industry experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe design suit, QGIS, MapInfo, Microsoft Word
- Detailed design drawings
- Landscape design and concept drawings
- High quality graphics
- High quality presentation mapping
- Familiarity with Water Sensitive Urban Design
- Strong design ethic and attention to detail
Knowledge of native vegetation
Experience in waterway and ecological rehabilitation
Interest in nature based solutions
Practical construction knowledge and experience (desired but not necessary)
Position: Dependent candidates availability, the role will be Full time casual 3 – 5 days per week.
hourly rate + super + bonuses (Hourly Rate based on the AILA Landscape Architects Salarey Survey 2022)
Probation Period: 6 months
