AWC were engaged by Logan City Council to redesign Riversdale Park Lake in Meadowbrook into a high profile urban lake. Various lake treatments were developed and prioritised into actions to be implemented over the next 3-5 years with the first stage of works completed in 2016.

Stewart’s Farm comprises a significant parcel of farmland and coastal forest at Skennars Head, NSW. To supply additional information to the Joint Regional Planning Panel for the proposed rezoning of the land, AWC completed a detailed ecological assessment and constraints analysis.

AWC assessed the poposed temporary access road to Upper Coopers Creek following a severe landslip in early 2013. Detailed ecological and contamination assessment of the proposed roadway was completed and a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) prepared for the project.

AWC have been working with the Burnett Mary Regional Group since 2010 to provide remediation measures that combat diffuse pollution wtihin the Great Barrier Reef catchment.

The NSW Department of Public Works engaged AWC to conduct soil and site assessments for the upgrade of onsite wastewater treatment and disposal systems at several Northern NSW public primary schools/education facilities at The Channon, Dorroughby, Upper Bonalbo, Modanville and Wilsons Creek.

AWC was engaged by Spotless Services Australia Limited to undertake a review of options for shoreline rehabilitation within the Australian Navy Cadets lease area at Golden Beach.

Karragarra Island Wetland is a coastal estuarine wetland complex currently in a degraded state due to changes in land use over a number of years. Redland City Council engaged AWC to investigate the causes of wetland degradation and make recommendations for improvements.
AWC have been awarded the Nerang River Estuary Ecosystem Health Study. The purpose of the Nerang Estuary Ecosystem Health Study is to accurately assess the health of the estuary and provide Gold Coast City Council with a strategy for managing the Nerang River Estuary.

To remediate problems with the Iluka Bay foreshore area, AWC completed detailed site assessments, design drawings to rectify erosion and a Review of Environmental Factors to implement the works.

AWC were engaged by Gold Coast City Council to complete the Coolangatta Creek Catchment Management Plan. The Plan will provide an updated management tool that will enable GCCC, government agencies and stakeholders to take a co-ordinated approach to the protection and management of Coolangatta Creek.

Byron Shire Council propose to provide biosolids from sewage treatment plants under their management for beneficial use on agricultural land, namely two sites under management as working dairy farms. The sites of the proposed biosolids application are in areas currently cultivated for cropping.
AWC have been monitoring the effect of artificial opening events on estuary and drain water quality and nearby wetland vegetation since 2008. Since 2008 AWC have increased the scale of environmental monitoring of the opening events to include 5 monitoring sites over 7 days post opening and installed conductivity and water level loggers throughout the catchment to better understand the mechanisms behind the ‘need’ to artificially open the sand barrier between the Belongil Estuary and the ocean.

The purpose of this project was to determine the soil characteristics of the Bangalow STP Property, classify the effluent of the STP and the biosolids produced at Bangalow, Byron Bay and Ocean Shores STPs.
