Leandra is an ecologist with a Master of Science in Research from Southern Cross University. Her research examined the flood resilience of riparian lowland subtropical rainforest and associated soils after the 2022 catastrophic floods in the Northern Rivers. With a background primarily in environmental science, focused on rainforest botany and ecology (vegetation, community, quantitative, riparian, flood and disturbance), as well as ecological processes, ecosystem types, flora and fauna of the NE NSW-SEQ bioregion, Leandra also has a background in education as a university tutor and demonstrator through the Indigenous Tutorial Access Scheme and in environmental science courses, as well as education design.
