Overview

AWC has monitored the Acid Frog population within the Harvest Estate over successive stages of development. With their tolerance of mildly acidic ground and water conditions, the Wallum Sedgefrog and Wallum Froglet live along Australia’s eastern seaboard.

Their geographic range is largely unchanged, but the area of occupancy has been significantly reduced due to activities such as land clearing.

Monitoring has included visual and aural detections, call playback and spotlighting. Water was tested for pH levels and conductivity. When optimal water quality conditions were not met, corrective actions were recommended.
