Overview

The BBIWMR is a 17-hectare wetland 24-hectare forest regeneration area that provides treatment polishing, nutrient removal & effluent reuse functions for effluent generated at the Byron Bay Sewerage Treatment Plant.

This project requires a range of specialist contractors including bush regeneration, civil works, ecologists research scientists and wastewater operations staff.      AWC manages the flow of water through the site,    identifies maintenance activities and ensures treatment  and reuse functions and licence compliance are optimised.

AWC also works with community groups to support biodiversity management on the site.
