Bremer River Stablisation – Gladstone Rd Reserve – Sadliers Crossing, QLD
Infrastructure Upgrade | Stormwater Treatment | Vegetation management | Community Engagement
Overview
A section of riverbank is eroding due to limited vegetation and large flood events. This project provides a solution to re-stabilise the stream bank and mitigate further environmental damage and loss of land using a Bio Engineered intervention.
Woody debris, boulders and denser riparian vegetation are used to re-stabilise the 30m stretch of river bank along the eastern side of Bremer River interfacing with Gladstone Road Reserve. Aquatic habitat embellishment opportunities are incorporated into the design, and a revegetation plan, including species, planting techniques and maintenance regimes also form part of the deliverable.
