Overview
The Nerang River, Canals and Lakes System is a highly manipulated estuarine landscape that has experienced major development and expansion since the 1950s. There are over 150kms of canals and hundreds of hectares of constructed lakes and urban runoff with little treatment.
AWC was engaged by the City of Gold Coast to conduct a study investigating all aspects of the system’s health, from water quality to residence and turnover time, aquatic flora and fauna conditions bank stability and potential rectification strategies.
