Overview
A series of constructed wetlands showcased Water Sensitive Urban Design to the Byron Bay township with improvement to the quality of stormwater discharging at Clarkes Beach and mitigating flooding in the town centre.
The project included consultation with representatives of the local Arakwal People, native bushland restoration and regeneration, increased biodiversity through enhancing the habitat of native species, and created opportunities for community education and engagement.
