AWC Has Become Carbon Negative.

Oct 29, 2020

Sustainability is a key priority for our business. One of our aims this year was to become carbon neutral to minimise our long-term impact on the planet. AWC partnered with the company, Carbon Neutral, who audited our business operations and calculated our carbon footprint. We have successfully achieved Carbon Neutrality and even gone beyond this to become Carbon Negative, meaning; we offset more carbon than we personally emit. We will be supporting the projects listed below.

AWC will be contributing to the Australian Native Reforestation project which is re-establishing the natural landscape of a 200km corridor of degraded farmland in the northern wheatbelt of Southwest Australia. This is done by planting up to 60 different tree and shrub species indigenous to the region. This project generates new jobs through tree planting and directly supports the Indigenous people of the area through employment and protection of heritage sites.

In addition AWC is helping to protect the Amazon, via The Madre de Dios Amazon REDD Project which aims to dramatically reduce deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon while protecting the habitat of 35 endangered species and the livelihood of local Indigenous communities who rely on the forest for their survival.

We are excited to be able to participate in such a positive initiative; if you would like to find out more get in touch with us or check out Carbon Neutral.
