AWC have chosen the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) as our charity of choice for 2013
The ACRF is committed to funding world-class cancer research that has the power to defeat cancer. Every dollar of every donation (100%) received by the ACRF goes towards discovering the treatments and cures for this terrible disease.
Since its inception in 1984, the ACRF has funded $86.5 million in cutting-edge research projects right across the country, with $60 million of this total awarded in just the last seven years. These funds provide state-of-the-art technology and facilities which dramatically speed up the discovery process in our fight against cancer.
ACRF grants are awarded based on the recommendations of a committee of leading Australian scientists, including Professor Ian Frazer, co-creator of the cervical cancer vaccine and Australian of the Year in 2006.
The ACRF receives no government funding and is always grateful for the support of Australian companies, community groups and individuals.
