Ecological Assessment for Tipplers Hub – South Stradbroke Island
Flora and fauna identification | Legislative knowledge | Stakeholder liasion/communication
Purpose
AWC was commissioned by Complete Urban Pty Ltd (on behalf of Gold Coast City Council) to undertake a full ecological assessment of the Tipplers Hub Precinct located on South Stradbroke Islands, Queensland. The ecological assessment enabled Council to develop two Material Change of Use (MCU) applications for Tipplers Hub, which will ensure the area can sustain current and future visitation while maintaining the social and environmental values of the area.
AWC completed a flora and diurnal fuana survey (nocturnal mammals, bats and birds) of the Tipplers Hub area that complemented the exsisting concept design of the proposed redevelopment of Tipplers Hub. Tipplers Hub is a local camping site which was the location of the former resort.
