Harrington Wetland

AWC are assisting Tweed Valley Landcare to develop a rehabilitation and monitoring plan for freshwater wetlands on the Harrington Property in the Cobaki valley. Portions of the wetland have been fenced to enable to assess and track the response of high conservation value freshwater wetlands.

AWC assisted in rehabilitating Little McCready’s Creek to improve water quality.

AWC worked with Mackay Regional Council to rehabilitate 720m of Little McCready’s Creek between Bucasia-Mackay Rd and Dawson Blvd. AWC engaged to ‘naturalise’ a waterway within a suburb of Mackay. The creek had been turned into a trapezoidal drain when the surrounding development was created. This resulted in a decrease in water quality, loss of habitat features and biodiversity, unnatural flow regimes and erosion.

AWC are now ISO 9001 accredited

AWC (Byron Bay) have recently obtained ISO 9001 accreditation. Over a six month period AWC developed and implemented our Quality Assurance (QA) system, gaining certification in September 2011. AWC to present 2 papers at the 2015 QLD SIA conference in Toowoomba

WC have entered the 2014 Banksia Sustainably Awards

UPDATE 20 Oct 2014: Unfortunately AWC (with NSW RMS) was unsuccessful in the 2014 Banksia Sustainability Awards. Nevertheless, a great project! AWC have entered a project in the 2014 Banksia Sustainability in the MMG Sustainable Water Management category.
